Short-term therapy for long-term results

YOUR PSYCHOLOGIST: THE VITAL LINK TO PERSONAL GROWTH

Lasting improvement in your life can occur when willingness to change works in tandem with a psychologist capable of identifying practical solutions to your problems. If both factors are not present, change can be slow, sporadic, or off the mark. On your own, you may give up the effort before you attain the desired result.

Once you decide to search for answers with guidance from an experienced psychologist, it's important to know that you're not embarking on an endless journey.  Therapy is a process directed toward a specific goal and my role as a psychologist is to define new pathways to help you achieve that result within a realistic time frame.

I begin by listening to your concerns with an objective, nonjudgmental ear.  During our initial meetings, we define what you hope to accomplish in therapy. You may want to improve your role as a spouse or parent, resolve job-related stress, or gain a better understanding of yourself.

Whatever your personal objective, we design a program of therapy relevant to your unique situation.  I offer no formula answers.  Working together, we explore your concerns, discuss possible options, and identify growth opportunities.  We create an emotional safe-zone of confidentiality-without fear that these revelations will be judged or criticized.

If you seek guidance, I ask questions that signal a direction that best suites you.  If you're confused, I offer a new perspective that clarifies the picture.  If you feel overwhelmed and unable to focus on your problems, I establish useful boundaries.

Throughout the therapy process, you can rely on my knowledge and experience to help you achieve solutions that can lead to a more satisfying life.
