The confidence of objectivity
A FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST: A VITAL LINK TO TRIAL STRATEGY
Where do you turn when you need an honest, credible opinion that can withstand demanding cross-examination? How can you be confident that the opinion your expert provides is based on the most current, comprehensive evaluation techniques?
When legal strategy can be influenced by the results of the psychological evaluation-Do you proceed to trial, plea bargain, or seek an out-of-court settlement-the quality of the assessment becomes paramount. The effectiveness of the opinion of a forensic psychologist rests on the thoroughness of the interview and testing process. Have all the relevant questions been asked? Has the psychological testing been properly administered and interpreted? Have the psychological findings been appropriately applied to the legal issues?
During my career as a forensic psychologist, over 90% of my cases have been referred by judges, attorneys, and law enforcement officials. They credit the honesty and objectivity of my evaluations and express confidence in my ability to accurately identify psychological problems and offer practical recommendations.
Criminal trials, civil actions, or child custody disputes can be agonizing experiences for plaintiffs and defendants. Attorneys can feel assured that my interaction with their clients will be sensitive and respectful; that I will hear them out and consider all the information before forming an opinion.
The reports I present have been described as thorough and well written, using down-to-earth language, not technical jargon. My recommendations are designed to help resolve the psychological-legal questions of the case. If further clarification is needed, I make myself available for pretrial consultation.
In my capacity as an expert witness, attorneys have noted the candor and decisiveness of my testimony. They also appreciate my ability to resist distortion of my conclusions during questioning by opposing counsel.
If you have an upcoming case that calls for the opinion of a forensic psychologist, I would be happy to answer any of your questions or explain the evaluation process in detail.
